Students from over a dozen schools around Seattle recently participated in a first-of-its-kind Fiber Technician Training Course for high schoolers — an expansion of the

Fiber Broadband Association's OpTIC Path™ training program.

PLP's Larry Robbert and Kevin Panteleakos led portions of a multi-day hands-on training, instructing high school juniors and seniors on the proper techniques for building PLP COYOTE® fiber optic closures.

Larry began his telecom technician career at age 19; now, after almost 40 years in the industry, he's inspiring students even younger than he was to be the next generation of fiber techs. We think that's pretty cool.

Thank you to the FBA, Whidbey Telecom, Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center, and Electronic Engineering Technology Instructor Ted Rodriquez for organizing the course and allowing PLP to be a part of this historic event!
