From Our Director
As we head towards the second half of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped the first semester be a great one. From staff, students, parents, and community partners, I appreciate you all.
I’m looking forward to the months ahead to watch our students continue to learn technical and professionalism skills in their program areas. Our students can accomplish anything they put their minds to.
Cascadia Tech staff are all working hard to ensure our students are college and career-ready, with industry certifications in hand, by June. It is our mission to encourage and support student success in each program. Enjoy this edition of our newsletter!
We are doing great things!

What is the Process for Emergency School Closures?
Cascadia Technical Academy follows the Evergreen School District’s operating schedule. When Evergreen School District is closed, Cascadia Tech Academy is also closed. When Evergreen School District has a 2-hour late start, then there are no session 1 classes at Cascadia Tech Academy, but session 2 is held at regular time.
If a student’s high school is closed because of inclement weather, the student WILL NOT be expected to attend Cascadia Tech Academy that day. If a student’s high school has a 2-hour late start, session 1 students are not expected to attend Cascadia Tech Academy, but session 2 students are expected to attend at regular time.
School closure or schedule change information will be given to the local TV and radio stations by 6 a.m. To get information on closure status, tune in to your local TV/Radio stations via internet/broadcast or check the Evergreen School District website at www.evergreenps.org.
Robbin Hansen, Paraeducator - Robbin is coming to us from Orchards Elementary as a special education paraeducator, but has experience as an instructor in the CTE world, as she was formerly an instructor at Charter College.
I have worked in education or in non-profit management my entire adult life. I have experience working with all age groups, but there is something I genuinely appreciate about the high school age. I enjoy being a part of a team who can help young people discover their potential and harness their strengths and discover where they can use those gifts to become the best version of themselves. Outside of work I spend as much time as possible with my husband and kids, read as much as possible, and more than likely am watching some sort of soccer game, whether at a youth or professional level.
