NCTA’s Internship Program Provides Students with Real-World Experience
NCTA’s internship program is officially underway, creating exciting opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields. With approximately 30 students interning across 24 industry partners, this initiative allows them to apply their skills in real-world settings, build professional networks, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers. These internships not only enhance technical abilities but also provide invaluable workplace experience, thanks to the mentorship and support of dedicated industry professionals.
Among the first to participate, Applied Medical Science students, under the leadership of instructor Rebecca Martinson, have begun working at a local long-term care center, assisting experienced nurses and nursing assistants after being fit-tested for masks. Their months-long preparations and resulting compassionate care has already received high praise from staff and patients alike. Additionally, Karha Cramer's Dental Assisting students are interning with local dentists, with some even working alongside their family dental care providers!
Thanks to the strong partnerships between NCTA and industry leaders, students are gaining the confidence and expertise needed to succeed in their careers.
If you are interested in finding out more about hosting an NCTA intern, contact NCTA's Work-based Learning Coordinator, Jerry Grisham.
