Continuing a newish tradition, the first semester SVT Geo Guessr (yes it is spelled like this) Championship took place over lunch in Mr. Robbins room. It came down to the final round where sophomores Elan Eva and Nate Moss took home the major award of a giant rice crispy treat. There will be a semester 2 championship, so on Monday everybody starts off fresh.
This game is fast paced, fun, and educational. It plops players in different areas using Google street view - can be local, world, etc. Then using the mouse to move around and using context clues, players must guess where they are. The closer to the location, the more points are awarded. Oh yeah and it's timed!!
Because it is done in Robbins’s class, it is for Sophomores and Seniors, so Freshmen and Juniors start practicing for your shot next year! It can be anybody's game.
Nice work Elan & Nate...you are up on your geography!
This is one of the many ways we build community at SVT where mixed grade levels are involved. Thanks for bringing this to our students, Mr. Robbins!

Advanced Biomed went to Broadway Elementary yesterday and taught a lesson to Mrs. Quinn's 5th grade class. The lesson was on the digestive system. Students played bingo as students shared information about the organ system and healthy food choices. Then the kids interacted with paper people and organs and finally participated in a relay race that ended with waste (bean bags) going into the toilet (basket).
Students were talking about it today how much fun they had fun with the younger students. Great job, Innovators!
