Pierce County Skills Center held their annual Plan Your Future Day. Students attended two industry-related workshops spend time in the exhibition hall during this campus-wide event. Students got to meet prospective employers from healthcare, local businesses, and the trades, as well as, visit with representatives from post-secondary schools. This is a great day and just the beginning of how PCSC connects students to post-secondary opportunities to help them be prepared for life after high school. NCTA Meridian Fire Science recruits spent their morning at Whatcom County Fire District 7 Station 43, where they were welcomed with a practice session of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)! It’s been an exciting month in our NEWTech Prep Veterinary program! Students have analyzed lab samples, learned animal anatomy by recreating systems from memory, and even had a visit from HEART (Spokane Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team). They learned about the requirements for becoming an animal rescue volunteer. What a fantastic day at our 3rd Annual Flu Clinic at NEWTech Prep! A huge thank you to everyone who made it a success, especially our incredible volunteer pharmacist from Walgreens—you’re a rockstar! We administered 40 flu shots today, serving not just our students but also staff, parents, and even our janitor!
